Today's Outfit By Clem

I have been let loose with my very own post! It's my first - yay! I don't usually get to do much around here besides looking pretty but hey, it works for me. So, today I am wearing a T-shirt by TTYA, a lovely cardi by The Future and sweet little shorts by Moshi Moshi. My shoes are supposed to be for Obitsu but seeing as they fit me so well and there's not a single Obitsu living here, I guess they are mine! Hope to see you all again soon!

Kiss kiss,
Clem

Middie Blythe: Cherish Me Always

(Credit: Junie Moon)

I had a butchers at the Middies when they first came out but decided that they weren't for me perhaps a little too quickly. Although, I do think they are a lot of money for what they are. However, and there is always a 'however' when it comes to me and my doll collection, I think this Middie is just gorgeous!

I saw her when I was poking around the Junie Moon website yesterday, although I really shouldn't have been and got suckered in by the cute pic above. When I saw that the Neo anniversary girl didn't do it for me I ignored the Petite and Middie, although given the price of Cherish Me Always that was a good idea!

She is around Odeco size and has a slight Moof look to her I reckon but I'm not sure if that's down to her hair. Her outfit has lots of detail and I absolutely LOVE her Mary Jane shoes. They should really make these in Neo size. There's no way I am going to pay over 15,000 yen for her (I have developed self-control, yay!) but I'm looking forward to seeing pics of her around flickr and I'll keep my eye out for new Middie releases from now on!

D.I.Y. - Easy Summer Headband!

I thought it might be nice to make a bright summer headband for Clem to complement her beautiful bold hair and came up with this easy D.I.Y. It doesn't take long and you only need a few supplies so if you'd like to have a go, read on!

Here are the supplies you will need:

Small scraps of fabric. You will not need anymore than 1" by 1" of each, unlike in the picture!
A small piece of felt
Needle and thread
Embroidery floss or beads
A small piece of dolly velcro (optional)
43cm of ribbon of your choice. I chose 9mm velvet ribbon. *You will need to add enough extra length to tie ribbon in a bow at the back of your Blythe's head if not using the dolly velco option.*

To start with make this shape by folding the ribbon back on itself. Do this slightly off-centre. This forms the bow and you can make it as big or as small as you'd like.

Stitch folds in place and you should end up with something that looks like this.

Using fabric glue attach a piece of the felt to each of the scrap pieces of fabric and wait to dry.

Once dried, cut out two small circles. One should be larger than the other. Cut towards the centre all around the edge of the larger circle. Use the embroidery floss to add french knots to the smaller circle of sew beads on instead. You could do a combination of the two perhaps! Then attach the two circles together with the smaller on top.

Glue or stitch the 'flower' to the centre of the bow you made using the ribbon. My flower has a real homemade look (and a slight touch of the ugly, but I have developed a soft spot for it!) but you can go as neat or as 'rustic' as you prefer. Try adding a button or a fancy bead if you want to miss out a few steps. If you are adding the velcro attach it now. All that's left is to pick one of your Blythe's to wear it!

A Walk to Greenwich

This morning I thought it might be nice to stop off in Greenwich park on my way to the shops. Gotta get my smoked tofu and gherkins. Lettice begged me to come and dressed in one of her favourite The Future tops. I think she was a little scared, having never been outside and kept jumping at every little thing. I think she seems a little perturbed here, as was I. I had just almost put her down in some dog poo. Nice.

These outdoor shoots make me so nervous! I'm not going to give up though, no siree.

Introducing Clem

I am a complete Dear Lele Girl fan and was fortunate enough to be able to afford her when she was originally released. In case you're thinking that you've never seen Clem before either here or on my flickr, you would be right. I have found her so difficult to photograph! I tried once and gave up, pretty pathetic, right? She is truly a pretty doll though and so I decided to stop staring at her for once and to, erm, stare at her through a camera screen instead.

I am wondering how similar she is going to be to the upcoming Blythe release Phoebe Maybe (Dear Lele: translucent edition?) but I think they will most likely make a great pair.

In honour of Clem's great unveiling, haha, here are five totally brilliant facts about her:

Fact one: Clem only told me her name TODAY! She is a total enigma.

Fact two: She longs to be a sweet lolita. I may have to treat myself to some cute fabrics and pretty laces to make her dream come true.

Fact three: Don't be fooled by her cute exterior, she has a steely core. Even Parkin knows not to mess with her!

Fact four: Gummy Bears are her favourite sweets. She likes to bite their heads off.

Fact five: She is almost as obsessed with Re-Ment cleaning products as I am.

Also: I will have an update on Parkin's mystery romance later this week. Catch up here, here and here!
