Pretty, Pretty Hairs
So here it is! The beautiful hair that I will be re-rooting my Very Vicky with. I am going to be trying nylon this time which I am a little nervous about as I heard it kinks very easily.
The white nylon will be the main hair colour and the pink and gray will be blended together and be used underneath the main body of hair to add interest. The pink complements Very Vicky's blushy cheeks so well. I am super excited to start this weekend as I have had the doll and white nylon for such a long time and I felt such a sense of accomplishment when I finished Flossie. I think they will be sisters.
I got the nylon right here in the UK from the lovely Robin at My Little Customs and my selection was Blizzard, Raincloud and Dusty Rose. I think the Dusty Rose seems like it might be similar to the new Blythe, Snowflake Sonata but it's difficult to say from pics.
I will keep you updated with my progress!

Very Vicky!
So, for my birthday I got Very Vicky! I had actually got her way back when she came out last year and had decided to leave her boxed up until I 'deserved' to open her. Well, things have been looking up for me lately and with it being my birthday (as I already mentioned) so I thought it was high time!
She has such a beautiful face with the brightest blushy cheeks of all my Blythe's. I can't help but think her and Dear Lele Girl make a great pair together as their face-up's are, well not similar exactly but reminiscent. Very Vicky is a bolder version; a lot more intense. Her special eye chips really suit her colouring and I love the new plumper lip shape. I am a definite fan of the FBL's!
I should have taken a comparison pic but I was a bit excited about having opened my doll at last and so I cut her hair really short just for fun before I re-root (I will show you the hair I chose soon!) and also I found it was a bit tangly. I think I went a little overboard with the fringe but as I'm typing now she is next to me completely bald and domeless!
About that: I found her head a little harder to open than my RBL's. Also her side face plates were not flush NRFB. Having taken the scalp and dome off to soak elsewhere I clipped her head back together and the plates are now flush. I think I will try to sand down the side ridges that hold the dome in place ever so slightly before I put her back together properly. Her scalp however, was a dream to remove from the dome after only a light soaking and both dome and scalp are intact!
Sorry for the long-winded post! But, a huge P.S. - The bloomers Vicky is wearing will be available on my Etsy in the near future! Woop!

Teeny Tiny Thursday
It's time for another Teeny Tiny Thursday! I reckon next week it will be a Teeny Tiny Tuesday however as that's got a better ring to it I think. If I'm going to go for the corny alliteration effect, I think Tuesday works out better for me. Ha.
Anyhow, I'd like to apologise for my lack of info on my etsy shop that I mentioned I would open this weekend. Basically, life got in the way (my birthday in particular, woot!) as it tends to do. I promise no more broken, well, promises and I will just surprise attack you with the opening sometime in the not too distant future.
Back to the tiny goodness! Tiny Moomin, look! Bask in his blueness!

Behind the Scenes
On Wednesday I posted a first look of some of the bloomers that will be appearing in my Etsy shop tomorrow (hopefully). I thought you might like a sneak peak of what went on behind the scenes!
Pippin has since fully recovered from this unfortunate incident.

Flossie Got a Tattoo!
So, you may remember that a couple of days ago Flossie blogged about a few of her favourite things. One of them was the picture above and since then she has become obsessed with getting a tattoo. I decided to live vicariously through my doll and inked her up myself.
Actually it's pencil but that's by the by. I love it! I hope it's lasts a while but I'm not really sure how to seal it. Oh well!

Teeny Tiny Thursday
So today I treated myself to a little piece of Rilakkuma Re-Ment from The Cute Shop A.K.A. Artbox and thus Teeny Tiny Thursday was born. I *think* the set is called 'Honwaka Bakery' and I can safely say I have no idea what that means. It is an extremely cute set though and I would love to get the cupcakes or the sugar cookies as well.

See, I told you it was one cute set, right!

Coming Soon To An Etsy Near You!
I have been sewing for my dolls for quite a long time now and sewing in general for even longer so I like to think I'm quite good at it :) On that basis I thought it would be fun to have an Etsy shop to sell some of the things I enjoy making. I will also have a stall at this year's Blythe Con UK, so I'd best get cracking really!
I will mainly be making clothes and accessories for Blythe but am hoping to spread the love to Odeco and WonderFrog too. When my etsy is up and running (hopefully this weekend) I will be sure to post an exclusive voucher code here to take advantage of if you fancy - good times as ever!

Bookmarked: with Flossie!
It's Flossie's turn to catalogue her favourite things of late. Take it away Flossie!
1. I am getting a bit obsessed with Washi tape's. They have such a lovely texture and cute designs too!
2. So I have to share my clothes and to add insult to injury they are just stuffed into tubs. I don't care if I have to live on noodles (Vicky: Huh, you eat? You know you're plastic, right?!) for the next month I'm determined to have a pretty pastel coloured rack to hang them up properly. Oh wait, I don't earn any money... I'm not a real girl! Dun dun dun!
3. I know I look all cute with my candy pink hair but I want to be a rebel like Parkin and Pippin. This would out-rebel them, right?
4. I have insider information that this fabric will arrive at Chez Rosie Apples soon. I heard it was for patchwork but if I don't get a dress out of it I will stomp my feet loudly.
5. I really love this collection of short stories by Dan Rhodes. They are funny and sweet and a tad depressing. I know you're not supposed to judge a book by it's cover but the new one is really emo and makes me not want to read it so I have used a picture of the old, nice cover. My favourite is 'Knife'. The stories are told in only a paragraph so I'm assuming Dan Rhode's is an ace tweeter.

Happy Valentine's Day!
Happy Valentine's Day!
Today being Valentine's I thought it would be fun to photograph my beautiful Matryoshka dolls that were an Anniversary gift a couple of years ago. I remember that we got them when we (me and my boyfriend) were on holiday in Whitby and there were a few equally beautiful different sets in this old man's bric-a-brac shop. He was selling up to enjoy his retirement and he took them all out for me so I could pick my favourite and see their pretty faces. It's a great memory and I will always regret not buying all his dolls! They were a total bargain but it was an extravagance at the time. I told myself I would never buy anymore Matryoshka dolls unless they were equally pretty and hand on heart I've never seen any better.
Thanks Michael, I will cherish them forever <3

Bild Lilli Blythe!
So my computer broke just as I was getting into a blogging routine. Good one. I'm not quite sorted on that front but I have been able to borrow one to get my blogging fix!
Recently I have been wondering what to do with the pieces of a Blythe doll laying around my flat. I had customised them once before to create little Luna but I ended up just not being happy with her. The re-root I did was chuffing awful! I made the mistake of using a crochet hook and not making a new partline. A n00b double-whammy, I know!
Anyhow, I decided recently that I only enjoy doing re-roots and light modifications and not customising a doll fully because I was scared of MSC. I had decided to sell the disassembled Luna (who was originally an Adorable Aubrey) but thought she deserved another chance. She was pretty cute at one point and I'm determined she will be again!
So, this time I thought I would have a theme which would make it easier for me to work towards a finished doll. I mulled it over, ate some Turkish Delight and then inspiration hit! Never underestimate what a sugar rush can do for you. I would model her on the Bild Lilli dolls. I really love their look and after researching a little more about them I thought a Bild Lilli Blythe repro would be brilliant and a lot of fun to do!

I'm not sure how faithful I want to be, she may well turn out fantasy haired but I'm really pleased I finally have a starting point and I'm excited to work on her once again. All in all, a positive day so far!

My sister came to visit for a couple of days and seeing as she'd never been to Camden before I thought she might like to give it a go. Parkin was also invited along in an attempt to be more brave with outdoor doll time pics. Having my sister as an accomplice was a good idea although she freaked out at the thought of dropping dear Parkin into the canal (It was very windy so Parkin needed supervision when larking about on the bridge!).
This is me and Parkin concluding that a hot drink was in order. It was on me, as ever!
It also turned out to be Veg burger time which always goes down well! Here's to more outdoorsy photo shoots in the future...

Today was Pan's turn to get dressed up. She chose a Dotz repro of the vintage Francie Tenteriffic dress. Underneath she picked out a petticoat to help poof the dress so its true loveliness could be appreciated! She likes to leave her hair wild and to run around with no shoes on.
Hmmm, I hope she washes her feet before she goes to bed later.

Charlotte Eyser!
Yesterday the postman arrived with my Charlotte Eyser at last! I had been getting really worried with all the problems at Bic Co and hadn't received a tracking number so it was a lovely surprise. It's not often you receive Christmas presents at the end of January!
I really love the WonderFrog packaging. Although it's pretty hard to take a photo of something in shiny plastic that is also made of shiny plastic. She also comes with a pair of goggles that look like something out of Batman.
They have a lot better fit than the previous goggles which used to fall off at every opportunity.
The colour is a gorgeous deep purple but if I'm honest it was the story for the character which most attracted me!
"He took the money from the bad guys are quietly offered it to children, or even a good guy really is. 。 . " (from the Studio Uooi blog)
Charlotte Eyser is the Christmas edition so I assume it's a take on Saint Nicholas/Robin Hood. I'm not so great at Engrish so who knows! Either way it's "Thief Supottoru special set"!
