What's In My Bag?

Today I caught Pippin on her way out and convinced her to let me feature the contents of her bag. After she demanded I photograph her looking all cool and disinterested, it was time to get bag raiding.

Me: What's all this Pippin?

Pippin: Just some spray paints for a craft project, hand sanitiser, a pretty scarf in case I, erm, get cold... and some leftover pizza for my dinner. Yep, that's right.

Me: Ooh pizza, can I have some? *opens box*

Pippin: Oh, erm...

Me: Pippin... is this why you keep sneaking out?

Pippin: What?!

Me: Don't think I didn't notice. It's not just Parkin who I've been keeping my eye on you know. You guys would run me ragged given half the chance!

Pippin: OK, you got me.

Me: Not to put a downer on your efforts or anything but do you not think it's a little foolish to spray paint your face everywhere?

Pippin: Huh?

Me: Never mind. You look great!

Teeny Tiny Tuesday

Today is my household edition of Teeny Tiny Tuesday. I have a fascination with miniature cleaning goods and smelly household items despite not being particularly excited by them in their practical form. It's a mystery I'm quite happy never getting to the bottom of.

Anyhow, this set is from Re-Ment Household Goods (thank goodness for NRFB Queen otherwise I'd never be able to identify anything! Haha) and is number eight. There are also a pair of slippers that are included. The slippers have a really odd picture of a man and a woman silhouette surrounded by flowers, above the word 'toilet'. It's almost like a wedding theme. Weird.

There are lots of other great sets in this series and from what I gather they are pretty popular. I love the tiny games set with the water pistol and the paint palette included in another. You really should check this series out if you are setting up a kitchen or laundry room because there are plenty of practical items spread across the sets.

p.s. The washing-up gloves fit licca hands!

A Walk to Greenwich

This morning I thought it might be nice to stop off in Greenwich park on my way to the shops. Gotta get my smoked tofu and gherkins. Lettice begged me to come and dressed in one of her favourite The Future tops. I think she was a little scared, having never been outside and kept jumping at every little thing. I think she seems a little perturbed here, as was I. I had just almost put her down in some dog poo. Nice.

These outdoor shoots make me so nervous! I'm not going to give up though, no siree.

Shrink-Ray'd!

I was browsing the Topshop website early this morning and saw this very sweet dress that would be perfect for Flossie. Unfortunately it was several sizes too large for her tiny, floppy Licca bod but as you may remember, that is no longer a problem since I invented a super cool shrink-ray!

I think it looks great on her!

Decisions, Decisions!

Right now I'm in the midst of that age old doll collectors dilemma:

Do I sell a vast amount of my collection to buy one dream doll I may not even like in person?

So the doll in question is a BL Kozy Kape. I know, right?! Join the queue. I have never seen a Kozy 'in the plastic' and admittedly up until a few months ago I had no love for her at all. Then last week, it became full blown Kozy-itis. I have no idea what it was that tipped me over the edge bar the fact that my only BL, Parkin a Rosie Red, has become an obsession to the point where a lot of my other Blythe's barely get a look-in.

There's something about my Rosie Red that makes her so much fun to photograph and I put that down to her crazy eyes which are full of expression. In comparison, it can be so hard for me to capture some of my other Blythe's that it sucks all the fun out of a photo shoot. It is important to me that my dolls look as life-like as possible in my images and that I enjoy them.
Umbrellahead's Sufjan, who sparked my Kozy love.

Sounds like I've answered my own question, right? If only I weren't so sentimental! I love my shelf dolly's and just getting to see them dressed up all pretty is really great. Several of them were gifts from family members and I would feel awful, like I was being ungrateful If I were to sell them. On the other hand I'm sure they would be pleased that they contributed to something that made me happy in whatever roundabout way. My parents are lovely, after all! But what if I hated Kozy in person... Gah!

I really don't want my collection to grow any larger, so maybe it is time to get strict with myself and think long and hard about who gets to stay. At the end of they day, they are *gulp* only dolls! Please leave a comment if you have struggled with this before and how you came to a decision. Did you regret it or did it work out great?

The Blonde Bombcase

If you missed any of the previous action, catch up here, here and here!

To summarise: Parkin is being very cagey over the identity of her new gentlemen friend after being swept up in a whirlwind romance involving tea parties, miniatures and vintage Skipper.

Here is the next intriguing clue in the magnificent (that may be a little strong), mini-series 'The Mysterious Parkin'.

The time: Monday 02/05/2011 11am
The Place: Mine and Parkin's city penthouse*

Me: Hiya Parks, been shopping? Did you get bread?

Parkin: I didn't eat the last slice. Get it yourself.

Me: But you know I'm desperately trying to become a hermit.

Parkin: Wait until you see what I got before you start going off on tangents.
           I'm going to look amazing!

Teeny Tiny Tuesday

I want to start off by saying that Elegant Sweets is one of the only releases where I would consider buying the entire series! I currently only have this set, the aptly titled 'Girls Like Tarts' which not only has the beautiful and vivid tart pieces but two lovely cake boxes. I am always a fan of the cake boxes that Re-Ment includes in some sets and these are definitely my favourite. They are simple to construct and have that fancy Parisian bakery air.

I rarely buy surprise sets and so have got used to lots of sellers simply sending the inner bags. This time, however, I not only received the outer box but the leaflet and collector card inside. As this set is from Re-Ment U.S, like last weeks T.T.T, the flyer is in English and it is really great to be able to read the names of the individual sets.

I'm going to be keeping my eyes peeled for other sets in the Elegant Sweets series from now on!
