Teeny Tiny Tuesday!

This week's Teeny Tiny Tuesday is from the Rilakkuma Bakery series. I suppose it's more of a mini-series as the individual sets generally only contain a couple of items. It's not the first set (shown back when this segment was Teeny Tiny Thursday!) I have from this series and both were bought blind as I can't resist when I see them for sale in person.

I wasn't sure whether this set was bread or cake but I settled on some sort of sweet bread. My boyfriend whipped out a couple of books that covered Katakana and Hirogana (which I totally forgot he had!) and helped me translate. It turns out that this set is crispy melon bread, which is a bit of a sweet bread as it is bready on the inside with a thin and crispy cookie-dough exterior. It takes its name from the cuts in the bread which look like a muskmelon and traditionally doesn't contain any melon at all. I guess you wouldn't really want to serve it with butter after all! Or maybe you would! I haven't got to the bottom of that yet.

I displayed the breads on my plate from a set in Natalie's French Treats that I will show you next week as it is really cute!

Squiddly Dot's Pull Charms

Last week I posted 5 fun pull rings and thought it might be nice to show you Squiddly Dot's. I am a fan of the Twiggy Twiggy rings because they come in such great colours and are really well made. Several of my Blythe's sport some Twiggy Twiggy's. Squiddly is my only Blythe with pull charms despite the fact that I have quite a few of these Kid Robot zipper pulls but I do like to clip them to anything and everything! This one is by Aaron Meshon and is probably my most fave series.

I don't know why I felt this charm was so perfect for Squiddly Dot but it just is. What pull charms do your Blythe's have, if any?

Wonderfrog Love

I am pretty much in love with this blue lately, so apologies if it all seems a bit samey. I wish I could get to a beach with sea water just like it. I've never actually been to one remotely this colour but I've seen it in the brochures. Hopefully it's not all a big photoshopped lie. That would be pretty crushing and I bet you pay extra for that.

Anywho, here is my lovely little yellow WonderFrog, Edo, enjoying his Minnapetit romper suit. He's looking pre-tty good, even if I do say so myself.

Have a great Thursday!

5 Fun Pull Rings

Pull rings are such a quick and easy way to give your Blythe's a little makeover. They come in so many different styles and colourways you are bound to find something that matches their unique personalities. With that in mind here are my top 5 pull rings of the moment!

Teeny Tiny Tuesday

I originally bought this set from the Storage Beauty series for the floral wellingtons but it was these pieces that ended up being my fave. The frog prince watering can is extremely cute and great for those slightly surreal shoots that doll collectors seem to be so great at.

The wine crates have a really nice texture which makes them that little bit more realistic. One of the reasons I love this set so much is that it adds decoration to pictures that otherwise may seem a bit bland. I am thinking about painting the flower pots to add a bit more detail but I don't want to go overboard. Maybe just a few white polka dots around the rim. Polka dots are the perfect no-fuss decoration I reckon, but we'll see!

Today's Outfit

This smock by Morganannie is one of my favourite pieces in my dolly wardrobe and it gets a lot of wear. It looks great on every doll that's ever worn it. You can see Flossie modeling it here. I know people might get bored of seeing the same piece of clothing more than once but I just had to share this cute pic of Parkin.

Hope you're having a fun Monday, if that's even possible. Well, maybe later when Glee is on!

Gold Spandex and Trainers Part 5

After the "blonde bombcase" incident I have been even more curious as to the identity of Parkin's mystery fella. Being the nosey parker that I am, I donned my best private detective trench and fedora and secretly recorded her on her way out this morning, in the hope of catching a glimpse of this secret boyfriend. No such luck, but I did see her all dressed up in a gold bodysuit with turquoise belt and leg warmers. She'd *borrowed* my trainers too. I suspect she went to the gym but why so fancy? Gold spandex doesn't seem very Parkin to me...

If you have missed any installments, you can catch up below!

Teeny Tiny Tuesday

Today I thought I would share my first ever Re-Ment set! It's the set that drove me over the edge from Re-Ment admirer to Re-Ment fan. I chose this set from the Hello Kitty Eating at Home series as it seemed like it could be used on a photoshoot by itself. A lot of my early Re-Ment purchases were based on the fact they could be used on their own without needing a whole diorama set-up to look good. Now I buy whatever catches my eye but I would love to create a kitchen and/or bakery. A girl can dream.

One of the things about the set that I thought was unbelievable (in a good way) is the knife and fork in a tiny case. Unfortunately it arrived a little scratched but I can ignore that most of the time. One day it will drive me crackers, I'm sure. The fact that a lot of the pieces are separate seemed absolutely amazing too. Also, the way the cup came off the top of the flask blew me away. I know I must sound like such a sad sack after typing that but I don't care, it's the little things that count to me!

I really do appreciate that Re-Ment doesn't just stick the pieces together as one big hunk of plastic allowing me to mix sets together easily. I'm sure this is what makes them so popular with others too and is what keeps me collecting. How did you get into Re-Ment?

Phoebe Maybe

Phoebe Maybe pics are finally here! I have been waiting with baited breath to see her official pictures ever since she was announced. Now the wait is on for owner pics!

Her hair is being described as light brown but in these pictures there is definitely a red tone to it. It's worth noting that Dear Lele who is definitely more of an orange redhead was described as having "Light Brown (Red Hair)". It seems very Amy Pond-esque and the fact she is a time traveler is a great bonus. Perhaps Phoebe Maybe keeps her sonic screwdriver in her cute pink suitcase. Although I do think it could be less 'Barbie'. I was hoping for a pink version of this green Re-Ment suitcase. I wouldn't usually gripe over an accessory but the suitcase is integral to Phoebe Maybe's background story.

Her outfit is pretty sweet, although I wouldn't have chosen the green socks. The pinafore is very detailed and the shoes are that great strappy style which a few other releases have worn since Bloomy Bloomsbury first showed them off. Her special olive eye chips are great, as are her light brown and must look brilliant against her translucent skin.

It seems like Phoebe Maybe could easily pass as a cousin to any Kenner and I can't wait to see her owner pics cropping up on flickr to live vicariously through. Maybe some time in the Christmas future she will travel to my house. Fingers crossed!

The pictures above and a couple more including doll details are over on Blythe Doll.

Billie and Her New Friend

I am so happy that mini Lalaloopsy's exist. I first saw them cropping up on the flickr stream of American Blythe collectors and eventually they made it over to England. I have had mine for a couple of months now and still haven't got over how cute they are. Neither has Billie who carries hers around all day long.

I am trying to resist bringing home one of the larger Lalaloopsy's but I don't know how much longer I can stand it!

What's In My Bag?

Today I caught Pippin on her way out and convinced her to let me feature the contents of her bag. After she demanded I photograph her looking all cool and disinterested, it was time to get bag raiding.

Me: What's all this Pippin?

Pippin: Just some spray paints for a craft project, hand sanitiser, a pretty scarf in case I, erm, get cold... and some leftover pizza for my dinner. Yep, that's right.

Me: Ooh pizza, can I have some? *opens box*

Pippin: Oh, erm...

Me: Pippin... is this why you keep sneaking out?

Pippin: What?!

Me: Don't think I didn't notice. It's not just Parkin who I've been keeping my eye on you know. You guys would run me ragged given half the chance!

Pippin: OK, you got me.

Me: Not to put a downer on your efforts or anything but do you not think it's a little foolish to spray paint your face everywhere?

Pippin: Huh?

Me: Never mind. You look great!

Teeny Tiny Tuesday

Today is my household edition of Teeny Tiny Tuesday. I have a fascination with miniature cleaning goods and smelly household items despite not being particularly excited by them in their practical form. It's a mystery I'm quite happy never getting to the bottom of.

Anyhow, this set is from Re-Ment Household Goods (thank goodness for NRFB Queen otherwise I'd never be able to identify anything! Haha) and is number eight. There are also a pair of slippers that are included. The slippers have a really odd picture of a man and a woman silhouette surrounded by flowers, above the word 'toilet'. It's almost like a wedding theme. Weird.

There are lots of other great sets in this series and from what I gather they are pretty popular. I love the tiny games set with the water pistol and the paint palette included in another. You really should check this series out if you are setting up a kitchen or laundry room because there are plenty of practical items spread across the sets.

p.s. The washing-up gloves fit licca hands!

A Walk to Greenwich

This morning I thought it might be nice to stop off in Greenwich park on my way to the shops. Gotta get my smoked tofu and gherkins. Lettice begged me to come and dressed in one of her favourite The Future tops. I think she was a little scared, having never been outside and kept jumping at every little thing. I think she seems a little perturbed here, as was I. I had just almost put her down in some dog poo. Nice.

These outdoor shoots make me so nervous! I'm not going to give up though, no siree.

Shrink-Ray'd!

I was browsing the Topshop website early this morning and saw this very sweet dress that would be perfect for Flossie. Unfortunately it was several sizes too large for her tiny, floppy Licca bod but as you may remember, that is no longer a problem since I invented a super cool shrink-ray!

I think it looks great on her!

Decisions, Decisions!

Right now I'm in the midst of that age old doll collectors dilemma:

Do I sell a vast amount of my collection to buy one dream doll I may not even like in person?

So the doll in question is a BL Kozy Kape. I know, right?! Join the queue. I have never seen a Kozy 'in the plastic' and admittedly up until a few months ago I had no love for her at all. Then last week, it became full blown Kozy-itis. I have no idea what it was that tipped me over the edge bar the fact that my only BL, Parkin a Rosie Red, has become an obsession to the point where a lot of my other Blythe's barely get a look-in.

There's something about my Rosie Red that makes her so much fun to photograph and I put that down to her crazy eyes which are full of expression. In comparison, it can be so hard for me to capture some of my other Blythe's that it sucks all the fun out of a photo shoot. It is important to me that my dolls look as life-like as possible in my images and that I enjoy them.
Umbrellahead's Sufjan, who sparked my Kozy love.

Sounds like I've answered my own question, right? If only I weren't so sentimental! I love my shelf dolly's and just getting to see them dressed up all pretty is really great. Several of them were gifts from family members and I would feel awful, like I was being ungrateful If I were to sell them. On the other hand I'm sure they would be pleased that they contributed to something that made me happy in whatever roundabout way. My parents are lovely, after all! But what if I hated Kozy in person... Gah!

I really don't want my collection to grow any larger, so maybe it is time to get strict with myself and think long and hard about who gets to stay. At the end of they day, they are *gulp* only dolls! Please leave a comment if you have struggled with this before and how you came to a decision. Did you regret it or did it work out great?

The Blonde Bombcase

If you missed any of the previous action, catch up here, here and here!

To summarise: Parkin is being very cagey over the identity of her new gentlemen friend after being swept up in a whirlwind romance involving tea parties, miniatures and vintage Skipper.

Here is the next intriguing clue in the magnificent (that may be a little strong), mini-series 'The Mysterious Parkin'.

The time: Monday 02/05/2011 11am
The Place: Mine and Parkin's city penthouse*

Me: Hiya Parks, been shopping? Did you get bread?

Parkin: I didn't eat the last slice. Get it yourself.

Me: But you know I'm desperately trying to become a hermit.

Parkin: Wait until you see what I got before you start going off on tangents.
           I'm going to look amazing!

Teeny Tiny Tuesday

I want to start off by saying that Elegant Sweets is one of the only releases where I would consider buying the entire series! I currently only have this set, the aptly titled 'Girls Like Tarts' which not only has the beautiful and vivid tart pieces but two lovely cake boxes. I am always a fan of the cake boxes that Re-Ment includes in some sets and these are definitely my favourite. They are simple to construct and have that fancy Parisian bakery air.

I rarely buy surprise sets and so have got used to lots of sellers simply sending the inner bags. This time, however, I not only received the outer box but the leaflet and collector card inside. As this set is from Re-Ment U.S, like last weeks T.T.T, the flyer is in English and it is really great to be able to read the names of the individual sets.

I'm going to be keeping my eyes peeled for other sets in the Elegant Sweets series from now on!
